5 Tips to Increase Your Visibility on Salesforce Events

Have you ever been to Dreamforce or another Salesforce event before? or are you planning to attend such an event for the first time?

No matter what your answer is, you probably know that these events are a mine for opportunities and knowledge.

You get to learn the best practices of using Salesforce to maximize sales, connect with other Salesforce enthusiasts and/or find potential prospects.

However, a lot of participants fail to capitalize the advantage of these events. They attend the event with plenty of enthusiasm, but come out empty handed. The reason for this is simple: poor visibility and inability to network.

Getting visibility is difficult in any event and especially if it is organized by a behemoth like Salesforce. A single Salesforce event gets thousands of attendees and being visible among thousands is not a piece of cake!

So, how can you stand out in the crowd? How can you increase your visibility? Here are 5 tips to increase your visibility on Salesforce events:

Let People Know that You Are Attending the Event

It is very possible that your prospects are already attending the same Salesforce event that you are going to. However, locating them and then reaching out at the event could be difficult.

Therefore, informing the people in advance that you are going to be there, then this job could turn out to be quite simple.

The best way to do this is by blogging.

For example, you can write about your predictions for the upcoming Salesforce event, about what your target audience may see and how they can meet you at the event.

You can also write about why your target audience should contact you and when you will be at the event.

Yet, simply blogging is not enough.

You need to ensure that it reaches to the right audience as well. There is no benefit in writing content if no one reads it! So, you also need to populate it through relevant content distribution channels.

Social media is the best platform to get your message out there. Also, you should identify the local influencers who can help you with the distribution of your message.

You can even contact Salesforce event-focused bloggers and ask them to write for you on their blog. But, give them a good reason why they should write about you.

Listen Carefully and Ask Thoughtful Questions

When you are at an event, you firstly need to be an engaged listener. If you listen to a speaking session or conversation carefully, you will be bound to have some questions and a great question will improve the perception people have of you.

A thoughtful question will let the people around you know that you are worth connecting with and that you did not just attend the event for networking.

Moreover, if you ask a great question in a conversation, it will make the person with whom you are conversing feel that you are genuinely interested in what he or she has to say. This will lead to a positive note and can even create a new relationship.

Break into a Group

You will see a lot of people group together and engage in conversation at any event. This also holds true for Salesforce events.

If the groups have already been formed before you can join in, it could be quite intimidating and daunting to walk up to them and break into the conversation. But, if you can do it, it will definitely increase your visibility.

So, find a group with a larger gap in between people. This means that there is room for more people in the group and you can fill up the gap.

Another way is to identify a group where one person’s shoulders and feet are a bit angled outward from the group. This is an indication that they are open to others joining the group.

However, you should make sure that you break into the right group that is relevant to your needs. You need a group where you can contribute with your knowledge to help others.

You never know, maybe the other people could be your next customers or great referrals.

Wear an Outfit that Will Speak for You


Salesforce events usually have a sea of attendees and you will see most of them have a similar appearance. They might be wearing business professional attire or business casual.

So, to rise above the crowd, you need to wear an accessory or color that will make you stand out from the rest of the attendees.

You may choose an outfit that combines bold styles and high-contrast colors or you can wear a necklace or a tie that highlights your personality in a tasteful way. A unique outfit will definitely attract attention and may even lead to conversations.
